Pretty good drinks and atmosphere, but terrible service.
This place has the same problem as lots of places in West AVL: employees who think they're cooler than everyone else and act like your presence in their business is an inconvenience. It's exhausting. Maybe you have to have tattoos and piercings from head to toe and be "alternative" to get good service here? If not, they'll turn their noses up at you.
No reason to be so cold and callous toward people for no reason. Cold, icy indifference and rudeness doesn't really make people want to come back.
West Asheville is full of "progressive" and "open minded" folks who treat anyone who doesn't look exactly like them like they're lesser. High school mentality.

Nice cocktail bar with a unique set of drinks. I didn't eat food so I can't review that. Good spot right off the highway on Haywood Rd. Waiters were friendly and helpful with recommendations for drinks.
Update: I've been back a few times since I wrote my initial review. I'm consistently impressed with their cocktail selection, and the food is also excellent! I had a chicken salad melt that was just delicious, and sunch a non-traditional combination of flavors. It had pickled onions, smoked Gouda and chili crunch on a nice soft ciabatta roll! Side salad was also nice with greens and radicchio.

Fine dining under the guise of a bar... Just kidding. They nailed that, too. I came for the Okonomiyaki and the Mezcal. Don't forget to hit the QR on the menu to unlock the extensive secrets of the tequila/mezcal list.

I can’t express how fantastic this place is. The food is technically far beyond what you expect and it was a shock to the system that something of this caliber can be under the ceiling of a bar with the laid back fun vibes of Golden Pineapple. Beyond impressed. Will be back… frequently.

It’s miracle time at the Golden pineapple! We are here with some frequency as I host a weekly radio show down the street on 103.3 FM. The cocktails are usually creative and well balanced, but when Christmas rolls around and they are part of the miracle pop-up, it’s another level entirely!
Fun but kitschy decorations, Santa hats on every seat, a wide variety of mugs for a wide variety of creative cocktails, including Stegosaurus mugs and unicorn mugs and Santa pants, all festooned with fun garnishes, such as a peppermint umbrella or mint with powdered sugar on it to look like snow.
The pop-up Christmas drinks are a little sweeter than their normal offerings, but you can certainly find a few tart or dry, such as the old-fashioned, which is on the much drier side.
This is great fun every year. And the photos you will see posted with this review include this year, and then you’ll also see me sipping from a Krampus mug, which was last year. Sadly, there are no Krampus mugs this year. Hopefully the miracle pop up people will understand the importance of adding Krampus into future pop-ups. I’ll be looking for Krampus next year. In the meantime, I’m enjoying some of this year’s offerings, including a new favorite… a drink with an actual snowball in it. I asked the bartender about them and yes, they are all made in house. And shaped there. It was the most fun old-fashioned I have ever had.
Pro tips:
1. it gets fairly busy later in the week, so try to come out potentially on a Sunday. Also, please note the days they are closed.
2. Soak up all that alcohol with something from their food menu. I really love their wings, but keep in mind that the spiced wings have the peppercorn that makes your mouth tingle. Which I actually really love.
We will be back a few times this season while the miracle lasts!

Get the burger!!! Came for dinner on national burger day and they did not disappoint! The house salad is amazing!! They use local greens and a house made vinaigrette. The service was excellent. Down to earth people with personalities not robots. Our drinks were top notch as well! 10/10 Definitely coming back More

This is a one-of-a-kind and hands down the best food experience my husband and I've had in 20+ years here in AVL. FYI Food is available late at night. The salads - crisp, green, and full of fresh herbs. Sandwiches are good to the last crumb. Madison at the bar was relaxed, lovely, and helped with great drink recommendations. We will be taking all our out-of-town guests here. We are becoming regulars. Golden Pineapple chefs, staff thank you for an amazing experience. See you soon.

From the incredible creative cocktail menu to the sweet and authentic vibe, this is one of my most favorite spots in all of Asheville. Not only are the staff and the owners very kind, but the “bar food” could match any highly esteemed restaurant in town.

Always a groovy ambience, with a mixture of 70's, 80's, & 90's art & decor. Ecclectic, hip, & simultaneously relaxing & spirited, this chill-yet-chic bar/restaurant is THE place to check out for locals or visitors. Incredible food, with vegetarian & vegan options, as well as killer options for the carnivors. & the cocktails? You'll want to try them all; expertly crafted & an innovative use of ingredients. Seltzers, beers, & N/A options as well. Always great music (sometimes live, or a local DJ). Wheelchair accessible & gender-neutral washrooms. Sit at a table or the bar. Usually space for a group or two. Free street or nearby (paid) lots available. Located in the heart of West Asheville, you'll be sorely disappointed if you miss out, when all your friends are raving about this spot! Weekends, arrive a bit early, as a bustling queue can form (for good reason!). My fiancée have been coming here for years. Very LGBTQIA+ & BIPOC friendly. Prices are about on par with plenty of West Asheville spots, though I wouldn't expect "Southern" style, massive portions: just clever plating, & enough to keep you coming back again & again...& again.

This one hurts…The Golden Pineapple was one of our favorite establishments in Asheville. We were huge fans and would tell people who asked for recommendations to make sure to check it out. After our experience there last night, we can no longer support them.
Their Miracle Bar Pop Up menu clearly has a NON-ALCOHOLIC section. Obviously, this is to be inclusive to everyone, such as those who are sober, pregnant, driving, etc. so they can enjoy a night out with their friends/family who may want to partake in an alcoholic drink. When Malcolm took our order, my boyfriend ordered the “Mellow Mouse” and pointed to it on the menu to ensure no confusion. He is ten years sober and wanted to ensure the correct drink was ordered, as this was in the non-alcoholic section. By clearly enunciating the drink name in English and pointing to it and the server confirming, we trusted he was getting The MELLOW mouse. When our drinks were delivered, he took a sip, and it was a bourbon based drink called the “miracle mouse”. Obviously after ten years of sobriety, this was quite shocking and I tried the drink to confirm the error. We brought it to Malcom’s attention and he stated, “I may have misunderstood you. I heard the word mouse and just plugged it in.” This is where the first problem occurred. Do not have two drinks on your menu with a very close name that are extremely different in nature if you cannot trust your servers to listen or care to what your patron is ordering. Ok fine, I suppose that was Malcom’s way of explaining the error. My career is professionally apologizing for things outside of my control for 10 hours a day. I listen, am empathetic, and try to fix the situation. When we explained to Malcom how big of a deal this was, he said “I wasn’t trying to poison you. This isn’t my problem.” How can you be so cruel and ignorant as a human? You made a mistake. You didn’t listen. You didn’t care. At least apologize and take accountability. We are two very understanding people, but the way the situation was brushed off and not taken seriously left a very bad taste in our mouths. We decided to leave and cancel our order and because of Malcom’s immaturity and attitude, we wanted to ensure our card wouldn’t be charged for our order, so we asked to speak to the owner who was at the bar. Your sweet hostess was so apologetic and frankly, horrified, that such a mistake happened, and tried to help the issue. She asked the owner to come speak with us, just because we wanted to ensure we weren’t charged, and we were told she said she was “too swamped.” As the daughter of a small business owner, this is not how you handle an issue that one of your staff members made. It screams we think we are better than you and we don’t need your business. It’s pretentious and gross and you need a major culture reset.
